đŸ‡«đŸ‡·Beginner Students Tip: ❌Stop Learning So Many Words/Expressions‌

Bonjour !!

This is a common problem I come across with my beginner private students: they focus on learning too many words/expressions but never learn how to apply it in conversation.

They’re watching videos like “10 ways to say ‘merci’” when really, they probably only needed one!

At the beginning stages of language learning, it just makes more sense to simplify and focus on applying what you learn in conversation. Later when you can hold a conversation well and you’re trying to grow your vocabulary, that would be a good time to learn a lot of new words and expressions.

Pro tip: Whenever you come across a new word or expression, seriously ask yourself “Will I ever use this?”. If the answer is “no”, make a quick mental note of it in case you hear it in conversation (since often the context can help you understand a word you don’t know), but don’t worry about memorizing it or using it ever since it’s not very useful to you.

Instead, focus on learning things that are relevant to your life. (we show you how to do this in our free French e-Course)

This is how you make more progress and way, way faster: by focusing on what you actually say in your everyday life and practicing regularly with your conversation partners as opposed to mindlessly learning random words and phrases.

If you do that, it’s only logical that you’ll have a better command of the language, right?

If you’re serious about French, you need the right blueprint. And it will save you a lot of time and frustration. Make sure you check out our free e-Course to see how you can build your French routine and fit the language into your lifestyle.
